Upper Body Strength Workout

Now that I’ve started this crazy journey as a runner, I’ve noticed there seems to be an imbalance between my upper and lower body. So I did some brief research and found that I’m not the first person to notice but, Runner’s World has encouraged the idea of working out your upper body not only to fight this imbalance, but actually improve your runs – something I also learned from my Trainer in college who’d always yell “PUMP YOUR ARMS” when we would be on the line for sprints.

So for my fellow runners out there (still weird for me to say), here’s a basic upper body workout that will work your core, your overall strength, and those little muscles we like to call “stabilizers”.
